Star Moonlighters!
These Hotshots are cashing in on their fame!
Jessica
Though this singer/actress often comes across as a ditzy blonde, she seems to have her finger in more than a few profitable pies. Jessica has a successful line of handbags and shoes, a lingerie collection and a range of haircare products created with pal and stylist Ken Pavés. She also hopped on the celebrity fragrance bandwagon, launching Fancy in 2008. To add to her on-the-side earnings, Jess appears in commercials for Pizza Hut and the acne treatment range Proactiv Solution.
Kate
Kate’s always been famous for her unique style off the runway. In 2007 she collabo-rated with British retail giant Topshop to create her own line, available from Topshop stores across the UK and, recently, from Barneys New York. She’s also launched various top-selling fragrances, including Velvet Hour, Kate, Vintage and Summer Time. She’s obviously enjoying the sweet smell of success.
Eva
This petite actress has scored large endorsement deals with the likes of L’Oréal, Magnum ice cream and apparel label Bebe Sport. But the beauty’s business acumen really came to the fore with the opening of her Hollywood restaurant, Beso (which means ‘kiss’ in Spanish). Eva counts Victoria and David Beckham among her regulars, and the luxurious eatery is always swarming with celebs and paparazzi. And she recently revealed plans to open Beso franchises across America.
Russel
In 1984 Russell co-founded the hip hop recording label Def Jam Records, signing acts such as the Beastie Boys, LL Cool J, Run-DMC and Public Enemy. Uncle Russ, as he’s affectionately known in hip hop circles, now commands the multimillion- dollar corporation Rush Communications, which includes a management company, clothing lines, TV shows, an ad agency, a production house and the up-and-coming sneaker company, Run Athletics.
Beyoncé’s
Beyoncé’s business skills are proving just as potent as her vocal abilities. Having been the face of Armani and Tommy Hilfiger perfumes, she’s recently announced plans to launch her own fragrance, in collaboration with Coty. And when she’s not marketing scents or recording albums, the bootylicious star finds time to manage a clothing line, House of Deréon, with her mother, Tina.
Beyoncé has also had lucrative endorsement deals with L’Oréal and Pepsi, among many others.
Drew
This Hollywood sweetheart’s massive fortune comes from time spent behind the camera as well as in front of it. She co-founded the production company Flower Films, which brought us favourites such as 50 First Dates, Music and Lyrics, Never Been Kissed, He’s Just Not That Into You and the hugely successful Charlie’s Angels franchise, in which she starred alongside Lucy Liu and good friend Cameron Diaz. Drew also endorses Covergirl cosmetics and Gucci’s jewellery line.
