What is happening at Foschini Group June 2010

‘Live in the moment,’ my massage therapist gently scolded me just five minutes into the massage, as I started stressing about the tasks awaiting me post-session. It was the best advice I received that day.

For the past six years South Africans have been planning ahead and dreaming about the World Cup. Infrastructure has been upgraded, stadiums have been built, related businesses have mushroomed, hospitality skills have been honed and people have been employed. We lived for this moment and now it’s finally here.

It’s time to stop, take a deep breath and savour it all. Don’t let the excitement and spirit of ubuntu pass you by because you’re already worrying about the next big thing. Press pause, put your feet up … and relax.

Turn to page 32 for some inside info on our local soccer stars, or get inspired on page 44 by South African actors who have had a taste of Hollywood’s glitz and glam.

Also, don’t forget to celebrate Father’s Day on Sunday 20 June. On page 52 we share some great gift ideas for the dad in your life. And for some profound life lessons by Randy Pausch, read ‘Fatherly Wisdom’ on page 54.
