Get some red-carpet inspiration from our favourite celebs and make their sparkle work for you. By Juana Parathyras.

JEWEL-TONED LIDS
Rocking amethyst eyes will definitely get you noticed.

Get Keri Hilson’s look

  • Use a cream shadow in a shimmery plum or violet shade as a base. Blend across your eyelids, then sweep the colour below your lower lash-line.
  • Line your top lid with a black eye pencil and then blend a dark purple shadow over it.
  • Use a small brush to dab a dot of silver shadow in the inner corners of your eyes to brighten.
  • Curl your lashes with an eyelash curler and follow with volumising black mascara, applied to your top lashes only.
  • Dust bronzer across your cheekbones to define them.
  • Apply a moisturising balm before dabbing on a matte pink-nude lipstick

Colour palette

  • Dark skins should steer away from iced purples and rather opt for rich, deep plum or royal purple shades.
  • If you have fair skin, stick to lavenders and lilacs and keep the dark purples blended along your lash-line.

FANCY LASHES
Nothing says glamour like a full, bold set of eye-catching lashes.

Get Olivia Wilde’s look

  • Apply false lashes just before you apply your mascara.
  • Cluster lashes consist of groups of three or more lashes and are the easiest to apply. Use a pair of slant-edged tweezers to pick up the cluster and dip the base into the glue. Wait a few seconds until the glue becomes tacky.
  • Start at the outer corner of the eye and wedge the cluster as close to your natural lash line as possible. Hold in place for 10 seconds.
  • Work your way inwards and don’t add more than five clusters per eyelid.
  • Swipe a stroke of liquid liner across both lids to hide the base of the lashes and brush on a coat of black mascara.
  • Colour in your lips with a nude liner and slick on some clear gloss.

GLOSSY CURLS
Shiny, loose curls are always on trend and so quick and simple.

Get Tyra Banks’ look

  • Work some volumising mousse through your locks and loosely dry with a hairdryer to add extra volume.
  • Create a middle parting and divide your hair into eight sections, four on each side. Twist each section around curling tongs and hold for a few minutes.
  • Once all the sections have been curled, spritz with shine-enhancing spray.
  • Apply smoothing serum to your hands and run your fingers lightly through your hair to break up the curls.
  • Spray with hairspray to hold bounce and tame flyaway hair.

HOT PINK POUT
Bright lips will take you from dull to daring in seconds.

Get Jennifer Hudson’s look

  • Sweep a gold shadow across your lids and blend it just over the creases.
  • Trace a black liquid liner along your upper lash lines.
  • For flirty lashes, brush two coats of black lengthening mascara on your top lashes. Any more and they will look overdone.
  • Apply a bubblegum-pink shade to the middle of your lips, blending the colour outwards with a lip brush. Don’t extend the colour over the edge of your lips.

COLOUR PALETTE

  • Neon pinks look great on dark skin.
  • Fair skins should go with cherry or fuchsia-inspired hues.
