Have you ever heard the saying, ‘a woman’s work  is never done’? That’s how I feel sometimes. Being a modern woman means taking on many roles, and after a long day at the office, putting on my domestic goddess hat can seem like quite a big ask.

Don’t get me wrong – I love having the freedom to wear the pants at work and also take care of my husband. Clearly, the powers that be think that we ladies should be celebrated for our contributions to society. When better to do that than on Women’s Day, which falls in this month? To kick off the festivities, read about a very talented woman in Hollywood: our cover star, Viola Davis (page 20), who’s stepping forward and claiming her place in the spotlight at the age of 47. If you feel like channelling your inner celebrity, turn to page 33 to see how you can turn a runway make-up look into reality. Because Club magazine is all about empowering its readers, we have advice on starting your own business on page 48. And if you’re wearing your chef’s hat but feeling uninspired, turn to our new recipes section on page 53. The dishes are so delicious and easy to make, you may even be able to persuade your husband or kids to help out.
